Release 0.6.0, 0.7.0 and 0.8.0

Release 0.6.0

Release 0.6.0 did make the game feature complete, new builds will only contain fixes, QoL features or eye candy/performance fixes.

Added

  • There is now a ingame tutorial, which can be skipped.
  • Add a new deck to the game
  • Add touch support to the game

Release 0.7.0

Release 0.7.0 did contain a lot of QoL features as well as performance improvements. This is properly build with the larges changes since the initial one.

This release does polish the game a lot in my oppinion.

Fixed

  • The AI did in certail situations reveal to many cards, this should be fixed now
  • The buttons for touch screens where visible on windows desktop builds
  • Some translation fixes

QoL

  • Rounds can be endet automatically now, there is new settings for that
  • The UI will scale on touch screens to allow better reading and interaction
  • The game end screen is now matching the style of the game and is easier to read
  • The game lobby screen is now better usable on mobile devices.

Eye Candy and Performance

  • Internal Rendering from “compability” to “forward+” changes, this will greatly improve the performance for mobile devices
  • The buttons in the main menu got more animations, check them out
  • Buttons will now play a hover sound
  • The tutorial text will now be animated, it will appear as it would be written. There is also a sound for each new letter appearing.
  • Improved visuals on the currently active player
  • Player cards in game lobby changed to be smaller in size, this does make it more easy to use them on mobile.

Other

  • New Screenshots in the game manual

Known issues

  • With this build the deck viewer is broken. I did update the scene in Godot and changed something which did break script.
  • Text input ui using wrong sprite.

Release 0.8.0

This release is a bugfix and refactor fix. It does contain some touch related QoL features but that’s all

Fixed

  • Deck viewer is working again
  • Text input ui was restored

Qol

  • Deck viewer is not better usable on mobile
  • Toggle boxes not do have a sound if toggled
  • Text input boxes do now have a sound if you write something
  • Touch input improved for game lobby and deck viewer, it is now much easier to scroll the player list, deck list or card list.

Final Thoughts

Those three builds did push the game greatly into the direction of my final vision. I will continue to play the game, fix bugs and improve the QoL if I notice something.

Feel free to get feedback or throw in some ideas.

If I can’t find any issues with that build I will properly make it the 1.0.0 version. But I would like some feedback about build 0.8.0 to have a good feeling with that decision.

What’s next?

At the moment I did start to write down my idea for another game I do want to create. As you might now I do develop those games in my free time while being a husband and father of a 3 year old son. So I cannot promise if that game will ever be public or get into a fun state.

If I develop it to a prototype state I will at least release it to itch and make the code open source. If I like the game idea I will continue working on it in an off and on manner as I did with this game.

The idea in mind will be more complex and therefor the properbility I stop working on it cause I got bored or I do not have enough time is bigger than for this game.
